In addition, the sound effects are great too, which is always a plus in horror games. However, credit to the designers for putting a fair amount of effort into things like textures and level design, because there are plenty of UE4 titles out there that look worse than Game Maker games. In terms of graphics, Emily Wants To Play Too actually looks impressive for an indie production, courtesy of the powerful Unreal Engine 4. Hence, there’s not really any way to defend yourself using guns or anything of the sort. It’s possible to interact with a few objects as well, plus a couple of puzzles every now and again, but the core mechanics revolve around hiding and avoiding the enemies. There’s not much to learn in terms of gameplay mechanics, given the fact that all you have to do is walk, run and hide. Great graphics powered by Unreal Engine 4 Naturally, that is not all, because there are also living dolls roaming around the place, which means that you have to do your best to avoid them and stay alive throughout the night. His next job is delivering sandwiches to a crime research facility, but things go wrong and he ends up trapped in the said facility. Hence, the environment and the sound effects can be pretty creepy even when things don’t pop up on the screen at random intervals, which is definitely a good thing.Īs for the story, it all revolves around a man who works as a delivery man. Hence, franchises like Five Nights at Freddy’s focus on jump scares, which is not a bad thing if that’s what you want, but usually such games fade from a gamer’s memory quite quickly. There’s no shortage of scary video games nowadays, given the fact that it’s a lot easier to integrate good sound effects and graphics, but it’s very difficult for the developers to get the atmosphere right. ![]()
